BIOGRAPHY

Tiyam Shiribabadi is an Associate at Chand & Co.

Tiyam is a critical thinker, fluent in multiple languages and passionate about client care. She articled at Chand & Co. where she gained valuable experience in a variety of legal areas including civil and commercial litigation, licence appeal tribunal matters, defamation, real property disputes, criminal law, employment law, and family law. She further advanced her advocacy, negotiation and drafting skills while working on pleadings, motions, and alternative dispute resolution.

Tiyam graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School. While in law school, Tiyam completed a full-time placement at the Human Rights Legal Support Centre where she assisted applicants at various stages of their claim with the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario and gained experience resolving matters through mediation. She participated in multiple advocacy competitions and was a semi-finalist in the Dentons Cup. Outside of law school, Tiyam served as the National Vice-President of the First Generation Network, which is a non-profit organization committed to reducing barriers for first generation law students in Canada.

Prior to pursuing law school, Tiyam obtained her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Equity Studies and Spanish from the University of Toronto. She is fluent in English, French, Farsi/Persian and Spanish.

Tiyam brings her passion for languages, oral advocacy and culture into her legal practice. She is a valuable researcher, communicator and leader. We are pleased to welcome Tiyam back as an Associate of the firm.
